    Overview

Your Keypad may be small, but it has a big job - arming and disarming your SimpliSafe® system and controlling all of your devices. You'll use your Keypad to set your entry and exit delay, siren volume, and more. The Panic Button on top can be used to signal an alarm when under duress but is also used as the test button when placing your system into Test Mode.

Your Keypad requires a Base Station to function. Need to purchase a system? You can build your system or choose from a pre-built package on our website. Need to purchase an additional Keypad? You can purchase additional Keypads on our website.

    Before Getting Started

Before setting up your Keypad, you will need to install your Base Station first.

    What’s in the Box

    • Keypad with mounting plate

    • Screws (optional for permanent installation)

If you want to mount your Keypad on a wall, make sure the surface has been wiped clean and has had time to dry.

If you want to screw mount your Keypad, you will also need your own Phillips Head screwdriver.

Remove the Keypad from its packaging but do not remove the battery tab. You will be prompted to remove the battery tab later on in the installation process.

    How to Mount the Keypad

Find a location for the Keypad. We recommend installing it on a wall or by an entrance you use regularly - like a front door or a door leading from a garage into your home or business.

    2. Navigate to the three-bar menu in the upper left corner of the screen and select Add Device or Camera

    3. Choose Keypad from the list of available products

    4. The app will then prompt you to remove the battery tab from the Keypad. The Base Station will announce, “Keypad added” when the Keypad has been successfully paired

      1. If the Base Station does not say this, it’s possible that the battery tab was removed too early. In this case, slide the Keypad up and off its mounting bracket and remove one battery from the device for 90 seconds. After 90 seconds has passed, place the battery back in and put the Keypad on its bracket

    5. You will then be prompted to name your Keypad. Select from the list of pre-populated names, or select Custom Name to input your own

    Preserving the Keypad’s battery life

The Keypad takes 4 Duracell AA batteries and has a battery life of 8-12 months, depending on usage. To your Keypad’s batteries, you can enable power saving mode. • Power Saving Mode for the Keypad

If the batteries in your Keypad are draining quickly, you may want to enable power saving mode.

Enabling power savings will prevent the Keypad from waking up without one of its buttons being pressed first. It also shortens the amount of time the backlight is lit to 5 seconds while shortening the amount of time the display will stay on when idle to 10 seconds.

    To enable power saving mode:

    1. Press Menu on the Keypad

    2. Enter your Master PIN

    3. Select Devices

    4. Select your Keypad

    5. Choose Power Savings

    6. Use the Keypad's arrow to toggle between OFF and ON

We recommend enabling this feature if you want to conserve its battery, or if you notice your batteries are draining quickly. The Keypad uses four (4) AA batteries which have a life expectancy of 8-12 months, depending on usage. We recommend only using AA alkaline batteries, and never rechargeable ones within this product.

  • Keypad Batteries Are Dying Too Quickly

The Keypad takes four (4) AA batteries and they are expected to last 8-12 months, depending on your usage and placement.

If you find that your batteries are not lasting nearly as long as that, there are a few steps you can take to optimise your Keypad’s performance.

First, you’ll want to make sure that you replace the batteries with fresh ones from any retailer or store. When doing so, we strongly recommend that you use standard AA batteries and not rechargeable ones.

Next, if your batteries are still draining quickly you’ll want to enable power saving mode. Power saving mode will turn off the proximity sensor in the Keypad that tells it to automatically light up when a person gets close to it. When power saving mode is enabled, the Keypad will only light up when a button is pressed.

    To enable power saving mode:

    1. Press Menu on the Keypad

    2. Enter your Master PIN

    3. Select Devices

    4. Select your Keypad

    5. Choose Power Savings

    6. Use the Keypad's arrow to toggle between OFF and ON
